| Just got the rules and I'm very excited about getting started. I need some guidance from you old vets as to how many figs should I get to start. |

Probably minimum two groups per side (maybe 3) with groups being 8-12 figs. Also 3 big men each plus a musician.
So, at very minimum 40 figs.
More reasonable minimum is 80. |

I think you can start smaller to just learn the rules. As you get better at it, you will want to increase at least up to what Henri recommends.
If you go over to and join the Napskirmish site on Yahoo Groups, there are some photos of games using SharpPractice in the Photo section.

Look for the "Small Sharp Practice Game" We used just three groups of 6 on each side with I think an Officer and a Seargent in each group. For just two people it was great for learning the game.
I think if you use 2 to 4 groups per person, with 6 to 12 figures in each, that would work. Use the smaller number of figures and groups if you are just learning the rules. |

| We find 5-6 groups per side + an artillery piece and maybe a small cavalry group with 2-3 big men is about right, so Henri's 80 fig goal per side is about what we do....we have trouble with finishing a game in less than 4 hours with more troops than that.... |
